The Joyous, Toe-Tapping, Musical Event of the Summer!
Woody Guthrie, America’s original folk hero, transformed the folk ballad into a vehicle for social protest and observation paving the way for Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Bruce Springsteen, and more. WOODY SEZ tells the story of Woody’s incredible journey. His legacy defined an American era of social consciousness and political expression that is alive and palpable today.
Huntington’s Disease Society of America
Music icon Woody Guthrie died from Huntington’s disease (HD) complications when he was only 55 years old. Before he passed, his wife Marjorie promised him that she would dedicate her life to fighting this devastating disease that also threatened their children. On September 18, 1967 Marjorie Guthrie founded the Committee to Combat Huntington’s Disease, which is now known as the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Please visit HDSA to learn more.
